Arvel Kirby

Mr. Arvel Kirby, age 77, of Woodstock, Ky, formerly of Chestnut Ridge, passed from this life on Sunday, March 1st, 2026. He was the son of Ulysses and Velma Renner Kirby.

Arvel is survived by his wife of 57 years; Patsy Hines Kirby, his children; Johnny (Janet) Kirby of Mt Vernon, Anita Barnett of Richmond, Donna (Keven) Wilson of Livingston. Grandchildren; Caleb (Kristen) Kirby, Paisley Kirby, Heather (Sean) Gentry, Stephanie (Tim) Renner), John Curtis (Albany) Wilson, Kirsten (Isaac) Sexton, great grandchildren; Raelyn Kirby, Weston, Axel, Todd, Cameron Gentry, Beau, Hudson, Theodore Renner, Dawson, Teddy, and Janie Wilson, his sisters; Lois Bussell (Teddy), Lena Bustle (Wilbert).

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ulysses and Velma (Renner) Kirby, one  brother; Kenneth Kirby, four sisters Mary Denny, Sadie Denny and two infant sisters.

Services for Arvel will be Wednesday, March 4th, 2026, at Owens Chapel from 6-9pm. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 5th, 2026, at 2pm with Bros. Randall Adams and Chris Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Caleb Kirby, Keven Wilson, John Curtis Wilson, Sean Gentry, Tim Renner, and Isaac Sexton.
