Becky Monk, age 82, of 95 Jimson Lane, Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 8th, 2026.
Becky devoted her entire professional life to caring for others as a nurse, a calling she embraced with compassion, patience, and quiet strength. Nursing was more than a career to her—it was who she was. Even after retirement, Becky’s heart for service never faded, and she continued to look after those in need whenever she could, always putting others before herself.
She found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. Becky especially loved the springtime, when flowers bloomed and trees came back to life, and she enjoyed spending her time relaxing and watching her favorite television shows. These peaceful moments reflected her gentle spirit and appreciation for the everyday comforts of life.
Becky is survived by her loving family; Bertha Beth and Willie Williams; Bruce and Diane Sizemore; and Brian and Dee Sizemore, who will cherish her memory and the many lessons she shared through her kindness, dedication, and caring for others.
She will be remembered as a devoted caregiver, a loving family member, and a woman whose life was defined by service and compassion. Becky’s legacy lives on in the many lives she touched throughout her 82 years.
Becky choose cremation for her final disposition, and a celebration of life service will be held Friday, February 13th, 2026, at Owens Chapel from 5-7pm.
